In 2004, Lawrence Frank managed to bring the New Jersey Nets to the playoffs that year, and in 2 seasons after that. But he has not had that success with the Pistons, as you can see with their 53 losses! But, their roster does have potential, but it's young and inexperienced. In my opinion, Gore should of gave him that guarantee so he could turn the Pistons around.

Detroit Pistons Head Coach Lawernce Frank Fired
After finishing a season with 29-53, and not making it to
the playoffs, Lawrence Frank is fired. He had only been coaching the team for
two years. But, in a Yahoo report, he said that he told the Piston owner Tom
Gores that he will only keep on coaching the team if he gets a guarantee that
he stays with the team for 4 years. His reasoning is that he does not know how
much time he will get to spend with the Pistons until he gets relieved of his
head coaching title. Or, in other words, fired. Instead, he could just go to
another team and get a guarantee.
