Derrick Rose is optimistic about his recovery, even though
the team physician said his recovery will take 8 to 12 long months. (For those
of you who don't know, D-Rose tore his ACL around a year ago.) He has had to
go through both physical and emotional hurdles, but he has come a long way.
There is still even a longer way to go, but he thinks he has past the worst of it. In
an interview, he said after the surgery, he couldn't even bend his leg. Now he
can run a little and he is granted clearance to do standstill activities, like
shooting. He also said that he appreciates everything, from bending his leg to getting rid of the of his crutches and braces. Finally, from this experience, he said that he will become a better player and learn a valuable life skill: patience.
But, there are still people wondering what kind of Derrick Rose he will be on the court. Will he have the same intensity? Will he be more cautious, and not drive as much? Will he be more of a jump shot shooter since he will have a lot of time to work on it? Everyone is waiting for his return.
